Tools of the Trade

Depending on your project, we may decide to use one or more of the following pieces of equipment. I include them here not to boast about my fleet but to provide a visual reference for the equipment I use. Also, when we talk on the phone, I may reference one of these pieces of equipment as appropriate for your project.

Woodmizer LT-40My primary sawmill is a Woodmizer LT40 Wide Hydraulic. It can process logs 20’ long, 36” in diameter, and 4400 lbs. It can cut slabs up to 34” wide. With its computer controlled depth gauge, it can cut 34” x 34” beams or veneer slices as thin as 1/4” thick.

Log Arch, Winches, & Cant HooksIn addition to machinery, I often also bring a log arch, 10K winch, cant hooks to a sawmill job. The log arch helps us shuttle smaller diameter logs to the side of the sawmill. It can also be used with my truck or winch to skid logs. My three 60” cant hooks can be used to roll logs onto the sawmill’s loader arms.
